3D Perception and Scientific Imaging Laboratory
The 3D Perception and Scientific Imaging Laboratory advances 3D perception research across both natural images and specialized scientific imaging modalities.
From everyday scenes captured by commercial cameras to complex structures revealed through advanced microscopes and telescopes, our goal is to develop efficient computer vision algorithms to unlock deep understanding at both macroscopic and microscopic scales. We further connect this visual understanding to real-world deployment through robotics, embodied intelligence and interdisciplinary applications.
Research Focus Areas
- Image-based object pose estimation, 3D perception and robotic grasping.
- 3D analysis, reconstruction and generation for visual understanding and embodied intelligence.
- Interdisciplinary applications of computer vision and artificial intelligence in civil engineering, construction, agriculture and biomedical imaging.
