ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Logo Guidelines
The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø is a unique symbol to South Dakota State University and has been the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø mascot since at least 1907 and perhaps as early as 1904. Through the years there have been more than 100 renditions done of the mascot. The new ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø can be used in several forms – the head; the head with the wordmark "ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍøs" and South Dakota State University; the full body; and the full body with "ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍøs" and "South Dakota State University."
Usage
- The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø logos are primarily for use by Athletics.
- They are not for scholarly or academic use.
- The marks may be used on a limited basis on spirit-related or celebratory materials for promotions and events as approved by University Marketing and Communications.
- The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø logos should never serve as a substitute for the Institutional Logo (SD Logo).
Head and Body
- The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø head must face left and should always be accompanied by a "R" positioned on the lower right or just above the "Bs" in "ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍøs."
- The full body ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø should always face right and be accompanied by a "R" positioned just behind the front paw or placed at the bottom right corner of the "S" in "ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍøs."
- The clear space for all ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø logos should be 3/16 of an inch around the entire mark.
- Clear space requirements must be observed for all ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø logos except in special, preapproved circumstances.
Use only authorized camera-ready art of the official electronic files to reproduce the logo. Do not use third-generation art or low-resolution art downloaded from the web for reproduction purposes. Low-resolution versions that work well on the web are not of a high enough resolution for printing.
The logo must be used in its entirety at 100% color. It may not be screened back. The logo must not be overprinted, manipulated, distressed or distorted. The logo cannot be altered or incorporated into the design of other logos. Such alterations would damage the logo's visual integrity and effectiveness. The logo may only be printed on university or neutral color palettes. It may not be printed on red or green backgrounds. For the purposes of general merchandise, printing the logo on some fashion colors (i.e. pink) may be allowed.
Colors
- The four-color ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø logos are required in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Yellow (PMS 109), ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Blue (PMS 286), PMS 117 and white.
- They may also be printed in two-color black or PMS 286 blue filled with white; or as a one-color PMS 109 yellow on a royal blue background or a one-color white.
- When used on a dark background the outlined versions of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø logos should be used to provide contrast. Outlined versions of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø logo can be obtained from University Marketing and Communications.
- The six-color option includes PMS 2706 (light blue) and PMS 600 (yellow) and is reserved for use in print, websites and certain merchandise applications. The six-color option should not be used for environmental signage due to it's complexity to reproduce.
