The College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences is the largest at South Dakota State in terms of faculty and staff and space for teaching, research and outreach. The college ranks second in total student enrollment.
In addition to six academic departments, the college is home to both the SDSU Extension and the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. SDSU West River Research and Extension is a satellite of the college and serves as center for teaching, research, extension and outreach activities in the western part of the state.

Growing South Dakota is the flagship publication for the SDSU College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences. The magazine features the college’s efforts to fulfill all three pillars of the land grant mission, undergraduate education, research and extension.
