Accessibility: Screen Readers

Why Is This Important?

Screen readers ensure those with low-vision, no-vision or learning disabilities are able to independently use computers, smartphones and the internet. It converts digital text and interface elements into speech output.

When To Use It

While listening to screen readers can be a great way to understand what those with vision or learning disabilities hear, it is not necessary for compliance with WCAG. If you wish to use the screen reader, listen to all public-facing content to ensure your content is understandable, clear and concise.
