Sierra Brown
Biography
Prior to joining South Dakota State, Brown gained experience in collegiate athletics and editorial design. From 2024-2025, she worked as the lead graphic designer for the Minnesota State Men’s Hockey program. She also served as the primary content creator for the Bethany Lutheran College Softball program from 2022–2026. In addition, Brown was the layout editor for Bethany Lutheran College’s newspaper, The Scroll, from 2023–2025, where she oversaw publication layout, visual hierarchy and print-ready design.
A South Dakota native, Brown earned her Bachelor of Arts in graphic design from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota, in 2025. She brings a strong foundation in visual communication, a passion for storytelling through design and a deep understanding of how intentional design can connect audiences to meaningful experiences.

Academic and Professional Experience
Academic Interests
Brown’s academic interests center on visual communication, brand identity and digital media design, with a particular focus on how thoughtful design enhances storytelling and audience engagement. She is especially interested in higher education marketing, exploring how design can strengthen brand consistency, community connection and meaningful user experiences across print and digital platforms.
Academic Responsibilities
Brown is responsible for the conception, design and digital production of university marketing materials, including display banners, viewbooks, newsletters, fact sheets, posters, brochures, social media content and web graphics. She ensures all materials maintain visual consistency and align with the university’s brand standards across print and digital platforms.
