This week’s Throwback Thursday photo hails from March 1954. Taken by Leeland Sudlow at the South Dakota State College (now South Dakota State University) Stock Judging Pavilion (now the South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum), this young man cleans and trims his hog’s trotters for judging. Many, many people are familiar with this process of putting their animals “best foot” forward.
